GN Nursery
is an association/organization of advanced farmers reshaping, redefining,
reorienting and re-engineering agriculture sector of national economy for
social and environmental well-being of world based on societal marketing
concept and advanced production-techniques of science and technology. It is
established, organized, managed by farmers. It defines every product in terms
of environmentally healthy and socially responsible parameters. Outlet
locations are selected based on the parameters of settlement geography i.e.
rural geography and urban geography.
GN Nursery will cover all the fields of agriculture
including specialization like horticulture, floriculture, viticulture, olericulture, pomiculture,
arboriculture, aquaculture, pisciculture, dairy
farmers and animal husbandry.

The serious environmental problems caused by traditional
CROP ROTATION (Wheat-Paddy cycle) of cash crops are being tried to be minimized
by using agricultural diversification. GN Nursery is a pioneer in implementing
this agricultural diversification.
GN Nursery
selects its area of operation: production centers based on environmental
conditions of that particular locations that is the
climatic conditions of Himachal Pradesh are suitable
for Horticulture, Floriculture etc. Locating our production-centers where
climatic conditions are suitable for particular crop or tree or shrub or

The
population is increasing very rapidly all over the world. Their feeding needs
are increasing and arable land is consumed and swallowed by the residential,
commercial and industrial buildings. Therefore the pressure on the remaining
arable land is increasing. It is therefore required to use and manage the land
resources properly and economically. GN Nursery is trying to do it so that the
fertility of the land could be protected.
The agricultural diversification with the implementation of proper and
advanced marketing systems is the only way to fight against all the odds.

is an apex body helping farmers to excel in their field while gn matrix is network of its
members joined based on the principle of co-operative better farming.

is a network of farmers who have joined GN nursery and group of outlets for
accessing the market.
gn nursery is one of extension wing of
Shergill Agro-Farms situated and located in village Jhingran, Distt. Nawanshahr (Pb), India-144507. It
was established in year 2000 to re-orient, reshape and re-engineering the
agricultural techniques being used from ages by our ancestors to maintain the
profit margin which is depleting day by day due to draught caused by Global
Warming. Underground water table is also shrinking and water being used for
cultivation of wheat and paddy is making the problem acute. In order to break
wheat-paddy rotation, horticulture, floriculture and forestry are selected for
next age GREEN REVOLUTION. Even technique of water harvesting is not helping
too much because of decreasing rainfall. Therefore,
gn matrix is market-hub of different
outlets situated in rural and urban centers and is controlled by mutual
coordination of its different members who are well-experienced farmers and
traders. These delivering points are very carefully and systematically placed
in prime location of business-hub of well-known rural and urban centers.
Special attention is paid while setting up the business points (Nucleus) on
basis of settlement geography of particular region. Therefore, gn matrix is a distribution
channel created and established to distribute any product (otherwise viable and
feasible in the regional market) to its target market.

gn matrix is based on the modern concept of co-operative better farming
which is a system of farming in which all agricultural operations are carried
on jointly by farmers on voluntary basis and each individual farmer/peasant
retains one’s right on land. gn
matrix is a society so organized in order to improve the methods of agriculture
without any pooling of land. Ownership and operation are individual and
personal. Each individual is responsible for all types of risks at farms.
Therefore, gn matrix simply
undertakes to supply better seeds, implements, fertilizers, irrigation, storage
facilities, joint sowing, harvesting operation and marketing of produce. In
other words, gn matrix can
better be called Service Co-operative. The ownership and management of
land remains with individual farmers. The peasants cultivate their land
independently except that they work according to a common plan drawn by the
association/organization. The association/organization arranges its funds from
member’s subscriptions and investments to CENTRAL POOL of funds (kept in joint
account held by members of association/organization) and borrowings from the
market/banks etc. The aim of gnmatrix is to bring
back life in its completeness into the villages, making rural folk self-reliant
and self-respectful, acquainted with the cultural traditions of their own
country and competent to make an efficient use of modern resources for the
improvement of their physical, intellectual and economic conditions.
The
members of gnmatrix are brought together and
organized to associate so that farmers should come together to reap the
benefits of large scale farming such as Joint Farm Machinery, Pooling their
produce for Marketing etc. (Horizontal Integration). After production, they can
have joint ventures of storage, transportation, and processing and even export
so as to have Vertical Integration)

Main
merits of such system of Farming adopted by gnmatrix
are:
1. Best
utilization of Land-resources: As per agreement of membership, land resources
are managed by central farm management control which helps member-farmer to
determine the cropping pattern on the basis of quality of the soil and other
resources. Consequently, there is every possibility of best utilization of
land-most valuable resource.
2. Advantages
of Large Scale Farming: In this co-operative farming, all merits of large-scale
production can easily be determined. Land is used in best way. Agricultural
Diversification can be implemented. The common use of agricultural implements
reduces the cost of agricultural operations like sowing and reaping, spraying,
thrashing, harvesting. The energy bills could be brought to the lowest. The
casual labor can easily be hired commonly and bulk project of agricultural
operation day by day may even help to get casual labor attention. The cost of
production is comparatively less while the rate of profit is high.
3. Optimum
use of Labor Force: Every labor or farmer is given work according to his
ability and aptitude. As a result, the energy of the farmers is utilized in a
better form. So proper division of labor is implemented based
on specialization. All members from different fields of agriculture are
adopted like horticulture, floriculture, olericulture,
pomiculture, viticulture, pisciculture,
aquaculture, dairy, and poultry farming.
4. No waste
of Land and Capital: Since land and capital are put under single management,
layout is made in such a way that the minimum area is kept under roads, water
channels, fences etc. Similarly farm machinery can be properly utilized.
5. More
employment: With increase of resources, the farming activities like
horticulture, dairy, poultry, cash crops, multiple cropping can be adopted.
Thus there is a good scope for more employment opportunities.
6. Spirit of
Co-operation: In present era of economic planning, co-operative farming
promotes the spirit of co-operation which is much needed in uplift of the rural
community in general.
7. All-round
development: The feeling of mutual understanding and co-operation leads to the
development of the country.
8. Economic
security: The farmer feels greater economic security under the system of
co-operative farming as risk is shared among all members of the association.
Their understanding helps to solve each other’s problems in a better way.
9. Economic
base of Industrial Development: The industrial development is not possible
without the development of the agriculture sector. In short, agro-based
industries can be established on the successful co-operative farms.
gnmatrix exercises and uses the concept of
the co-operative marketing which is based on the principle of co-operation and
helps the farmers to get maximum returns for the farm product that is to say
that gnmatrix is a co-operative sale association or
association of producers (member-farmers) formed to perform the function of
sale. It is an attempt at self-help to overcome the difficulties arising out of
the smallness of operations and to undertake one or more functions performed by
the middlemen and other servicing agencies.
